International attention has made Akacia Medical an obvious choice not only for patients in the Nordics, but for patients around the world.

In 2021, our surgical team appeared in SVT's Kristallen award-winning documentary series "Under Kniven," where one of our procedures was filmed. On Finnish public service broadcaster Yle, our patient Visa Saarinen spoke about his procedure in the programme "Akuutti," one of Finland's most established medicine and science shows.

Patient Visa drew attention in Finnish media after documenting his hair journey on TikTok throughout 2025, from surgery to final result, generating millions of views on the platform. One of Sweden's biggest TV personalities, Joakim Lundell, also helped spread awareness by documenting his own hair journey for his 1 million followers.

Our results have reached a global audience on YouTube with more than 5 million views and have been praised by both viewers and industry professionals worldwide, including American hair restoration commentator and plastic surgeon Dr Gary Linkov, who reviewed our work for his 1.2 million subscribers.
